mickey mouse, harry potter, and a lot of driving

Happy Monday, friends!

I’m virtually vacationing from Monday today and linking up with The Blended Blog to share my favorite summer vacation!

I actually have two, but I’ve only ever blogged about one!

One of my favorites was this past spring/summer trip Disney with Kyle, Lilli, and Kyle’s parents. You can see the full post HERE.

It was our second major vacation with Lilli and there is nothing that could replace how happy she was while we were there! I know she won’t remember it, but I sure will. It was such a blessing to be able to go, and I can’t wait to take her again when she’s older and relive it all over again!

My second favorite summer vacation was our honeymoon back in 2014. Kyle and I got married in January, but we waited to take our honeymoon during the following summer. We were both still in college and had to wait until school was out for the summer (I know we sound like we got married in middle school, haha! We were young, but not that young! I was 20 and Kyle was 22.)

Kyle and I are huge Harry Potter fans, and we were dying to go to Harry Potter world at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. It wasn’t a typical “honeymoon”, but we loved it so so so so much.

We drove allll the way down to Florida, 28 or so hours worth (we made the same mistake with our Disney trip, with a one year old). We got to our resort, and it was absolutely gorgeous. It was an all-inclusive resort and it was the best stay we’ve ever had in a hotel/resort.

We were in Orlando I think for a total of 5 days I think, not including the days we took to drive. We visited University Studios for 3 of those days. It was a blast and it has definitely become “our thing”. We want to visit again during one of our wedding anniversaries (which is in winter so it won’t be blazing hot, hallelujah).

What is one of your favorite summer vacations??

  1. Wow that is a lot of driving but it sounds worth it! I love that you both got married young. I was 23 when I got married and my husband was 25 and people thought we were nuts lol. I love that you did something you enjoy and made it a special honeymoon for you <3 Beautifully Candid
